Lyrically it is as personal a song as I think he's ever put out which is a good indicator for the other songs. The end guitar riff is refreshing to get to and as others have said it has a very Daft Punk vibe to it. At first I found them very jarring but that was mainly because I hadn't quite felt out the rhythm of all the parts involved. The glitch/loop parts in the middle continue to grow on me. The lead off electro pop song that gets you in the zone for what is to come. My projection as of now is that Let It Happen is in fact Track 1 and could potentially be a sign of a true concept album. The context we'll get when LP3 is out and we can hear how it compares to the rest of the album is what I'm really excited for. I don't count the jams played live (they seem like segue jams) and Stranger In Moscow is a cover. the first we've heard since October 2012. Our context right now is that it is a new original song from Tame Impala. I think this song is all about the context. It's gonna carry off all that isn't boundĪnd when it happens, when it happens (I'm gonna be holding on) I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round "Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good) Do you like it? Is it something you'd like to see more of in LP 3? Or do you want EP and Innerspeaker Tame Impala back?īut not really as loud as the voice saying Obviously this is a large step in a new direction for Tame Impala and it would be nice to hear people's views about that new direction. I decided this would be suitable as it is a hot topic at the moment and although it has already been discussed we've had a few days to have a few more listens and collect our thoughts on the song. This weeks song discussion is the new song 'Let It Happen'.
